Samantha Howard writes about the intersection of technology, innovation and impact, exploring how new technologies shape the way we live, work and connect. She’s worked as Head of Editorial at Pedestrian’s future tech publication The Chainsaw, written for global publications including VICE, Mixmag and Matters Journal, and collaborated on stories for clients as a comms lead with reporters from WIRED, TIME Magazine, TechCrunch, VentureBeat and Tech in Asia.

Despite acknowledging humanity might’ve survived if tech had not existed, she aims to put her energy into where it can be garnered for good, working in communications and tech education alongside the philanthropic arms of Google, Microsoft and Atlassian, and runs the Technology for Social Justice Conference with Infoxchange. Her relationship with tech is best described as “it’s complicated” — but she takes solace in that at least tech can continue to progress with upgrades and updates.
