You&#8217;ll just need a <a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/elements.envato.com\/photos\/taxi\" target=\"_self\">stock image of a taxi cab<\/a>. You can grab one from Envato Elements as part of your subscription to the <a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/elements.envato.com\/pricing\" target=\"_self\">unlimited creative asset service<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. How to Set Up the Workspace<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">First, open the photo that you want to work with. To open your photo, go to <strong>File &gt; Open<\/strong>, choose your photo, and click <strong>Open<\/strong>. Now, before we get started on the Photoshop sketch effect, just check a couple of things:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Your photo should be in <strong>RGB Color<\/strong> mode, <strong>8 Bits\/Channel<\/strong>. To check this, go to <strong>Image &gt; Mode<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For best results, your photo size should be between <strong>1500\u20134000 px wide\/high<\/strong>. To check this, go to<strong> Image &gt; Image Size<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your photo should be the <strong>Background<\/strong> layer. How to Create the Base Sketch<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 1<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We&#8217;re in the process of turning a picture into a drawing. Now we are going to create the base sketch. Select the <strong>Background layer<\/strong> and go to <strong>Layer &gt; New &gt; Layer Via Copy<\/strong> to duplicate the <strong>Background<\/strong> layer, and then drag that new layer to the top of the layers in the <strong>Layers<\/strong> panel. How to Create a Draft Sketch Effect<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 1<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now we are going to create a draft Photoshop sketch filter. Go to <strong>Layer<\/strong> <strong>&gt;<\/strong> <strong>New<\/strong> <strong>&gt;<\/strong> <strong>Layer Via Copy<\/strong> to duplicate the <strong>Base Sketch<\/strong> layer. How to Create a Rough Sketch Effect<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 1<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The next step in learning how to turn a picture into a drawing is creating a rough sketch. Select the <strong>Background<\/strong> layer and go to <strong>Layer<\/strong> <strong>&gt;<\/strong> <strong>New<\/strong> <strong>&gt;<\/strong> <strong>Layer Via Copy<\/strong> to duplicate the <strong>Background<\/strong> layer, and then drag that new layer to the top of the layers in the <strong>Layers<\/strong> panel.
